Kranching waterfall + Batu caves

Another waterfall we had visited that is Kraching waterfall, along with maggie, jensen and me. Kranching waterfall was located nearby Rawang, We start our journey by follow the road to kepong and rawang for about 20-30 minutes .

Passed by Batu Cave and follow Kuantan direction, all the way to Selayang then before Rawang there, then u will saw Hutan Lipuh Kanching on your right hand site, make a u turn because there was divider that cant make u right turn. Journey took about 45min or less than that. It's a quick descent to the entrance parking lot, so be aware. The entry fee for adults a is RM1 per person while each vehicle is charged RM2 for parking.

Based on the information from internet, there are 7 waterfalls inside the Hutan Lipur Kranching, which mean that there will be 7 levels of waterfalls. Each waterfall had their name and characteristic. It was mentioned that Hutan Lipur Kranching was a great hideout for a weekend getaway or a picnic, is well-known among the locals. The forest holds special appeal for nature lovers in search of peace and serenity in its waterfalls, which is definitely worth a visit.Getting know that during the weekends Kanching is very crowded, luckily we reached there by 9.30 am, the place still quiet and not much people around.

We started our journey by walking through the paved walkway for about 10-15 minutes. Frankly, we had totally no ideas with the 7 falls, and didn't aware of it even through we passing by ( really FC!!). After the paved walkway, we had passed through the first waterfall- Lata Bemban, second waterfall - Lata Terentang, third waterfall - Lata Tempenis. Where the most of the people will stay here because it will be much more easier to get there, concrete pool was build which crowd will not suffering for the uneven rock. The facilities such as changing rooms, picnic area, toilets and camp side will be provided at this levels.

1st Waterfall- Lata Bemban

Weird post

Act cool!!

2nd waterfall - Lata Terentang ( A Bridge joining banks together to generate more resting area )

After that, we were continued to the forth waterfall - Lata Kapur. This is the most dangerous pathway along the journey, we have to climb up from the very steeply and long concrete stairway till the ascend narrow pathway just beside the steep hillside. We have to hold the rope when walked along the hill sides to prevent us from fall down. You can see the river was tame and cascade over four levels at here. We are all exhausted after this climbing .

4th waterfall- Lata Kapur

Rest after tired climbing the hills

We have to crossing the water stream in order to get to fifth waterfall , many rocks around this area ,beware of it when you crossing this river. After passing through the bushes pathway surrounded by forest, we had reached to the Lata Tembusu. A fanstatic scenic in which you can see a tall waterfall and wild cascading of the water.

5th Waterfall- Lata Tembusu

To climb up the small hill, you will reached the sixth waterfall- Lata Gapis and this is the end of the track, we can't find a way to reach the seventh waterfall- Lata Buas. Anyway, thinking of our safety, we just satisfied to reach till here. However, this is not a nice place to take a bath here, we decided to head back Lata Tembusu and stay there.

6th Waterfall- Lata Gapis

After that, We decided to visit batu caves which is located nearby as suggested by maggie. Since maggie never been there before, me and jensen force to accompany her this time . Nothing much to said, we just climbed up the 272 stairs ( very tired !! FC maggie !), and took a look for the statue . At the mean times , Jensen did pray over there as well.

genting Trip - part 1 (30/1-31/1)

30/01/2010, which is Thaipusam holiday, this time we planned a trip to Genting Highland (not Batu Caves) which is organized by Jensen.

this trip started when this event was posted in FC club(Facebook), jensen had tried his best to make this event a success, he sent many invitation to all of our FC club member, but the feedback from most of the people is not able to join this trip, due to the date is close to CNY, most of us are busy for spring cleaning our house.(next time we have to choose a suitable time for our trip!!)

We departed to genting from Klang around 11am driven by our dedicated driver - fai,
after fetching me, wee tat & sue yin, we gathered at jensen house & started the journey around 1pm. On the way to Genting, we passed by Batu Caves & there was a massive traffic jam. We were stuck there for around half and hour.this was the first time all of us saw the celebration of Thaipusam in Batu Caves live, wow...many people there!! the road was full of cars, many traffic police were controlling the traffic. Some of the cars there had accident there, the car surface were either scratch or 'kemek' due to knocked by other cars...kesian..

After we escaped out of the traffic jam, around 1 hour plus later we arrived genting. We parked our car in B3 parking lot which is near to the 1st world hotel lobby(said by jensen) but actually we have to climb 2 more storeys to reach the lobby.. (:"! speechless..) the wheather there was quite cool & comfortable.

Group photo taken in 1st world

We planned to check in 1st and later on just trasfer our luggage to the room. Luckily jensen have booked the room earlier by paying cash( RM175 ), we get our room (17712) in quite a short time, around 15 minutes. Me & sue yin went to the room 1st and the 3 guys went to the carpark to bring our luggage to room (good.. gentlemen). the room is standard size, no scenery, the window just face to the other room which is opposite a building, nothing special. That time was around 4 something and our stomach was making noise, we decided to eat lunch/dinner in somewhere cheap & nice which is at Ria Apartment(recommend by Wee tat). From First World, we felt the cool atmosphere while walking to the Ria Apartment, it takes around 20 minutes.

on the way to Ria Apartment

We went up to 2nd floor of Ria Apartment, there was a Chinese stall at the corridor, a small place but the food is quite delicious & the price was reasonable. After finished our dinner, we wanted to take the lift to go down, but something happened, no people outside, but the lift door closed & opened for few times even we kept pressing the close button, erm.... so we decided better to walk down using the stairs in a fast pace... =.=”

After that, We walked around the First world, there full of CNY atmosphere, many chinese stalls selling their product such as accessories, CNY decorations, clothes, toys, magnet, flower.....got fortune teller also. Then, we went to Casino which only age 21 & above are allowed to go in. it was smoky & many people were gambling. We make a round there & drink some free drinks, next, played Keno there. most of the people do not realize the existance of this game ( Keno). It is a simple gamble game, suitable for people to spend time & rest there, easy to win (depend on your luck).

Later on, me & sue yin separated with 3 guys because we planed to celebrate birthday for jensen (22/1), so we 2 girls went to buy a birthday cake & meet them in the room later. Besides that, it is shopping time for us!! We went around the CNY stalls & took lots of photos. For guys, i think they went to casino again. (guys, if you want edit anything here, please add here, because i am not clear with the activities you all have there after separated with us. : P)

CNY stalls & decorations in genting

I & sueyin having our dinner - nasi lemak (RM7++)& "Long Sou Tong"(purchased by sueyin) in food stall, hungry after shopping..

Our Dinner - Nasi Lemak & "Long Sou Tong"

around 10pm I & sue yin head back to the room & waited for the birthday guy to come while watching DIE HARD 4 in room.So Sleepy...

11pm something,Fai message me,they were on the way back to room. I & sue yin prepared the cake to celebrate for Jensen. Once the door opened, we sang birthday song for him & gave him the present we had prepared earlier, that is MONOPOLY!! (haha.. It is belongs to FC group also. next time any trip must bring along..it were purchased by me & suggested by Fai.. really goodidea.. useful!!)

Mango Cake birthday guy - jensen

We played monopoly till 1.15am, then we watched a midnight show in genting cinema (Legion-RM12 + free 1 pack junk food per person).. erm... (no comment!!) after so many activities whole day till 4am, its time to sleep..For next day activities, jensen planned to play all park & wake up early in 7.30am.

7.30am alarm rang, nobody was wake up, me force to wake up 1st, after that, sueyin, wee tat, jensen & fai at last. We have our simple breakfast in room (biscuit, 100 plus, bread, cookies...) then quickly went to theme park to buy the tickets (around RM50 per person after get discount by deduct member GP point).

that day, the genting is vy foggy, the wheather quite cool also, a lot of games is under construction, cork screw & space shoot also not functioning. We played the games such as Go-Kart,Sungai Rejang, Bump bump car, paddling, dragon fly, 4D movie.....some mini funfair also have there, got one stall present a big bear to participant which get throw the ring on bottle, We thought the bear is easy to get it because quite many people have got it, we spend RM20 to play the game, but the results is --- waste money. jensen also suggest we take photo with snakes & monitor lizard (RM15 per photo). It was a shock when the woman put the snake on my shoulder without informing me, i shouted when holding the snake, worry the snake will hurt me. Luckily, the photo quite nice. the monitor lizard have male & female, the male is normal & does not bite people but the female is crazy & will hurt people, her head keep shaking.. (told by the PIC), so we do not dare to touch the female monitor lizard. Inside the outdoor theme park also have Beryl's Chocolate Shop which have beautiful decorations & nice shooting space, they publish the information regarding the process of Chocolates, health info & selling chocolates products there.

at the end of genting trips, we went to sit venice gondola in indoor, make wish & eat baskin robbin Ice cream (because that day is 31th, we thought got discount but actually not.. Nevermind because it is treated by fai.. Thanks boss ya!!) Around 5pm, we departed back to Klang, for our dinner, we ate MiHunKueh which is famous in Berkeley .

Then how about genting trip Part 2 ??? Ya... It is Coming soon....

Taman Rimba Ampang + Little Genting + Sungai Congkak

Initially, our planning was neither go Taman Rimba Ampang nor Little Genting at Hulu Langat, only one place attracting us that is Sungai Congkak. As usual, every times what we planned, it will not goes accordingly. Anyway, it will great experience for us as well, instead of heading one destination, we can go other attracting places along the journey. My turns to drives this time, after fetching jensen and maggie, we depart at 900am. We are not well prepared for this time and no one even know how to reach Sungai Congkak ( as spoken by jensen, he said he knew how to get there, but i don't think so, he just know to go Ampang by getting through Rawang, really FC!).

As expected, we are losing direction when reached Ampang, the only thing we can do is to ask the local ppl there. For your information, i was a local ppl .... well, er, partially maybe.:) , please don't blame on me, nowadays Ampang really changes a lots, may skyscrapers, shopping malls and many roads that i not familiar with. So, after asking one or two local ppls there, they know that is one recreational park nearby, but forgot it's name, we decided to get there, no matter how, it will be nice to visit. By using the only left 10 % my childhood memory , we reached our first station- Taman Rimba Ampang .

Entrance of Hutan Rimba Ampang

i often come here when i was kid, never thought that i have a chance to visit again. Taman Rimba Ampang was really an escape to the city next door. Not much can expected.Entrance fee is RM1 per person. The road is paved, public vehicle is not allow to enter. Probably to keep the air fresh from carbon monoxide. We came around 10am and it’s still early and quiet , peoples started coming with picnic stuffs. It’s perfect place for picnic with such a nice landscaped grounds.

We have to cruising ( by walking) about 1Km of pavement lingering with water steam and green forest around. It was just like taking us into the another world which is far away from city.

Along the river side of Hutan Rimba Ampang

After that, we continued our journey to find Sungai Congkak. We decided to have our lunch at Ampang utmost famous food - Yong Tao Fu!! I was suspected that this is the trap set up by them so that i can treat them to eat, damn!!Anyway, Yong Tao Fu nice to eat after all, as usual, it never let me down.

Ampang Yong Tao Fu

I decide to inquire my relatives at Ampang so that we will have more clearer direction. This decision was right, we know how to go there at last, by passing through Pandan Indah, and Hulu Langat Hill, we finally reached our destination. We do passing little genting(look up point) during the journey and decided to get in to take a look.

KL City Views At Look Up Point

The scenic of KL city was fantastic when look from look up point at little genting, we bet it will be nicer for the night view of KL city. We decide to have dinner here when we head back from Sungai Congkak.

Finally , we reached Sungai Congkak, well , indeed it is a recreational park, not just the river. Sungai Congkak Forest is the perfect retreat for city folks, with well developed public facilities such including a camping ground, picnic spots, chalets, rest shelters, public toilets and parking space. Same with Hutan Rimba Ampang , we have to walk along the pavement surrounding with green forest, and water stream. We decided to walk till the deepest as we can, where no one been there. Along the walkway, we had see a lots of camps among the folks , gathering session of family. Well, this is the nice place to picnic too, with the all facilities provided, we just need to bring required food and utensils.

Activities at Sungai Congkak Recreational Park

Along the walkway

Lastly, we reached till the one point and decide to stop by. With the crystal- clear water, roaring rapids and cascading river, we just cant wait to get in there. The water was cold and we just lying at the river relax ourself and fresh our mind. Some say because the cool water will burn your fat body, burn your cholesterol in your body, good, jensen sure like this very much!!

Sungai Congkak

When we headed back to dinner, along the road we saw few ppl sitting and put their leg into concrete pool . As according by local ppl, this is the Hot spring. Without further ado, we put our leg inside to feel it. The water was warm, and it was not too hot for us till our leg get boil. Anyway, the water was drawn from the river nearby , so it was quite dirty, we just rest here about 30 minutes before we get back our journey.

Hot Spring at Hulu Langat

As mentioned, we having dinner at Look up point, the night view of KL city is awesome, having dinner with this environment is just nice!! That's end for our trips , we get back around 9pm, it was comfortable journey after all, we got what we have and bonus as well to get to visit other two places.. yeah, forgot to mention that FC jensen lost his sandal ( cost : rm100 ) at look up point, any one found it when visit there , please do inform him :)
