Camping at Bukit Cahaya (24-25/04/2010)

After went back from Gunung Nuang, we have a common thought to overnight in Gunung Nuang if want to reach the top. We plan to have a try 1st before go up there without preparing anyting.

So, the first ever of camping trip held was fall on 24/4/2010 (saturday) at Bukit Cahaya Shah Alam, since it provide well facilities for the camping & nice landscape of camping site as well. 5 of us (me, sueyin, fai, jensen & yong sai) have join for this trip.

This is the map to TPM

It can be reached via KESAS highway and follow the signboard along the way. Car park is RM2 per entry. The entrance fee is RM3 for adult 12 years old and above , RM1 for kids. the camping site is RM5 per each, no tents or sleeping facilities are provided, so we have to bring our own tent & sleeping bag to overnight there. Before go there, i have make booking by make a called to the office (Tel : +603 5510 6922 / 5510 6923)
** remember have to call within working hour, not lunch hour or after work. the lady ask us have to reach there before 4.30pm due to the office will close after that. Actually the check in time is 2pm & check out time is 12pm.

Due to Saturday I & fai still have to work half day, we cannot reach TPM before the check in time, so jensen have to be our representative to register & get the camp site before the office close, that time raining heavily too, jensen get wet because he do not bring umbrella, so poor..

around 5pm, 4 of us just reach TPM, then we start our journey lu...At beginning, we plan to walk in because we do not know whether vehicle can drive in or not. Before that, we heard from lee hoong that the camp site is located quite deep inside the forest. Then, jensen & Fai have suggest me & sueyin to ask the ranger to drive in the car (because they said girl more easy to get the permission.. FC!) But at last, we really get the permission to drive in with a visitor pass (have to exchange with IC or license which will return when check out, or else, can register in office, that time is already over office working hour, so we no choice to left license there to get the pass.)

So, we follow the map that get from office or ranger counter to find our way to camp site.

On the way to camp site - camar rimba, natural forest surrounding us

we follow the way & see a signboard that have camp picture & state a word "camar" too. After go straight, we reach the camp site, actually there have chalet, swimming pool, dewan also. On the same day, Rakan Muda have activity at there too, but the participants all stay in chalet. We just realize that we are the only group that camping on that night. consider good or not? >.<

setting up the camp

start to make camp fire... small fire.. haha..

dinner time - bbq

games time - monopoly deal - introduce by sue yin, jensen was so addicted with this games, cos he wan win, wan become millionaire... dream too much... >.< **p/s: remember bring mosquito repellent, advisable to wear long pants & long sleeve if you the kind that easy attract mosquito, i can said, many mosquito there.. =.=' 2nd day : wake up early around 6 something, actually we dint sleep much, cos i & sueyin sleep around 4am, while guys sleep around 5am something i guess (in car... cos fai forgot to bring 1 more tent.. sigh)

aunty jensen is preparing the breakfast for us -- sandwiches + banana(sponsored by yong sai :D)** jensen like the moo moo - toy so much, next time can buy for him as gift already, no need think too much for his gift)

after breakfast, we keep our tent & prepare to leave the campsite. We headed to our next destination -- fruit garden, thought can grab some fresh fruit to eat.. :P but unfortunately, the garden was no fruit that we can see & eat...disappointed.
further up from the fruit garden, got the cactus garden, we stop there & take photo.

next destination - four season house, entrance fee : RM3 for adult & RM1 for child
Winter season garden is exhibited from December to February.
Spring season garden is exhibited from March to May.
Summer season garden is exhibited from June to August.
Autumn season garden is exhibited from September to November.
you may take the coach provided by the park and ask the driver to drop you at the entrance to the four season house.

Last, we went to Empangan Air Kuning (Yellow Water Dam?), which can fishing at there with the practice of "catch & release". this Dam is quite deep inside the park, it is the 1st time we come here by car, hard to reach by bicycle.

Actually, beside this few place we visit in TPM, there are many gardens in this park amongst which are the Spice Garden, Ornamental Garden, Orchid Garden, Cactus Garden, Bamboo Garden and Mushroom Garden. Bicycles are available for rent at the park while free bus service is provided to ferry visitors to various spots within the park. Skytrex & Paintball which operates by private company also having in this park. the Skytrex we have make it on 1st of May, 2010, challenge the extreme games, RM45 per each person. However, Paintball we will planning for next time.

After finish our trip in TPM, we went to eat our lunch - DIM SUM in puchong, recommend by Jensen, & treat by Sueyin... thanks lady boss.. :P The prawn is very fresh & Q, nice to try, but the fun cheong no nice, others still ok, can have a try.

Pisang Fall

Jungle Lodge

Pisang fall is located next to the Karak Highway. From the old Gombak road to Genting, after passed through two traffic lights, there will a entrance on your right hand side that pointed to the jungle lodge, be careful for the entrance; it was easily to miss it. Slow down when passing through the Hospital Orang Asli, there will be a quick descent to the entrance parking lot. After parked your car there, we had to walk along the river for 15 minutes until to reach the water pump house. Crossing the river side to reach the opposite river bank, follow the narrow trail until you reached the stairway.

Water Pump House

Stairway

Along the way, you will experience the slashing from the sharp edges of the grass and scrubs. After climbed up the stairway , you will heard the whizzing sound from the vehicle above us, and it's remind us that we are right bottom on the Karak highway now.Follow the trails, you will meet the twin tunnels. The tunnels just underneath the Karak highway, it was damp and dark inside there. Go through the tunnels, you will find yourself another part of the Wonderland! It was a jungle trail indeed, and follow the river side if you want to reach the pisang falls .

Finally Reached to Pisang Fall

Our Lunch

Pisang Fall

The trail difficulty is easy and the hike will take approximately 2 hours to and back via river and jungle trails to reach the waterfall. We had crossing several rivers before to reach pisang fall. There are two waterfalls, one is directly head to river flow, while another head to the pool. I was wonder why this fall called as pisang falls, does it really look alike pisang. Well, try imagine! We did enjoyed the scenery and breeze over there, and not to forget to having our set lunch- sandwiches. It is advisable to bring along the salt due to there will be leeches alongside of rock and pool.

Leeches

We had saw some people was fishing at the pool with man-made fishing rod with bread as bait, and they success to catch few fishes, perhaps, it could be a nice fishing spot too.
Around 11.30 am, we decided to head back. It was a nice getaway for city folks if you want some relaxation and to have a peace in your mind. I did enjoyed the pathway to reach pisang falls in which we had to crossing several rivers bank, and the water is clear, and cool. Along the slow movement of the river flow with reflection of dense tree-canopy tropical forest, it makes you feel like get into the world of Pandora!
